Meet the Cast: Hugh Chudley



Chief of Police, Hugh, has a constabulary duty. Read how he gets it done, below. Interview with Rachel Hilland. 

How long have you been in Emco? 

30 years


 What is your favourite role you have played? Why? 

Bill Snibson in Me & My Girl. It's a perfect blend of comedy, sincerity, and tap dancing


2010hellodolly12What is the funniest thing that has happened to you during a show/rehearsal? 

I realised my flies were open during a monologue during the Musical Showboat... I thought my acting was superb as the audience were going mad, but then realised the horror.

Monsieur Thenadier in Les Miserables


What musical sums up your life? Why? 

Half a Sixpence because it’s not about the money, but being with the one(s) you love (cue puking)


What would your character use as a chat up line? 

I’d like you to accompany me to the station



What's most challenging about your role? 

The Physicality


What celebrity would you like to play this role? Why? 

Lee Evans or John Cleese as they are both geniuses at Physical theatre


What is your pre show routine? 

To try and remember what I have forgotten
